Of a female joining the army reserve and becoming a medic or aviation medic? So I can ride in helicopters and evacuate hurt soldiers to safety?

Im not an army recruiter, but I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do that just because your a woman.

    Well, for a Reserve unit you need to make sure they actually have that near you within traveling distance.

    Reserve and Guard don’t get free range to all the jobs the Army offers. They have to pick something they can drive to once a month.

    Spc Burns is partially right. First he said that you have to be within driving distance, you have to be within 50 miles of that unit, if your not then you need a letter of acceptance from the unit your looking at joining. The reserves and National Guard all have aviation units and even medical evacuation units although there are not many. As far as being an evac medic, you have to be specially trained for that part once you get to your unit. Your best bet is to go and talk to the Reserve recruiter in your area and see what is available. In addition I would check the Air Guard also.

    I’m not a recruiter but I’m in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan right now. Medic and flight medic are both good jobs. There are also a lot of jobs in fields like Public affairs, communications and military intel that are good jobs and fairly safe. No job is a sure thing for safety.
