Question by Ken: Can i go to local military recruiting center without appointment?
Im dont want to talk to any military recruiters yet, i just want some information. Do you think i could just go to a recruiting center (any branch), without an appointment or anything, and just ask for all the brochures that they have? Just wondering if that would be rude or anything
Thanks
and remember i only want the brochures, not a interview =]

Sure but they will attack you like guard dogs and try and sit you down and convince you to join.

Sure, just walk in and tell them what you want. That is why they are located in store fronts.
Yeah you can do that. Or you can always take a look at there websites or go to military.com and get info.
Not rude at all. Walk right in, they will be glad to see you. Good luck
ya their always ready to send off another young kid to get killed in a foreign country over b/s
I do not think that a recruiter would have a problem with you stopping by. You know that you can look online at the services websites. These websites provide information about the branches. Make sure that you visit all of the branches and talk to veterans or those currently in the Armed Forces. If you are in high school, you might be able to have your guidance counselor arrange a visit. Good luck and make sure to do your research.
You can with most branches but Air Force often has just 1 person in an office. If they are tied up, they wil have to reschedule. If you plan on talking to the USAF, I recommend calling and setting an appointment before hand.
You would be better off to go to the individual websites. Less hassle for you…………
No appointment needed. But, beware, it’s like going to a used car lot, they attack!
But, it’s their job and that’s what they need to do. However, if you’re wanting information you can do that online too. So, if you have specific questions I’d go talk to them, otherwise I’d just surf the Net.
sure you can they will very nice to you. ask anything you wish to know thats their job
Definitely, they aren’t going to turn you away just because you want information. They will probably ask some questions to help you pick the right brochures. For example are you interested in ROTC, the G.I. Bill, signing bonus, etc. While all the branches want the best people they also want you to be in a program where you will successful.
Absolutely. Be clear that you just want to read the material, and expect to get several business cards, but when I was a recruiter, walk-ins were about 60% of my recruit total.
Remember the ones who were understanding of your situation, and didn’t pressure you. If you decide to go for more information, ask to speak to them.
They will not mind at all. The recruiters have a quota to meet and they will be happy to help any one.
If you have a friend or relative who has been in already and got out, take him/her with you. They will get $ 2000 for bringing you in. Just, make sure they share some of it with you!
Not only that, but bringing a friend whose been there and done that, will help prevent you from getting screwed. Trust me, recruiters do like to screw people some times and tell them that they can’t get a certain duty station, MOS, or a sign on bonus and college money.
Trust me on that, they did it to me.
You can always stop by without an appointment just be aware that recruiters are not in their offices much during the day unless they have an appointment coming in. Your best bet would actually be to call your local recruiting station right before you want to drop by to make sure someone is at least there. Just tell the recruite that you speak with that you only have a minute but would like to drop in and get any brochures that they have available.
yes,bc they are desperate to reach their monthly goal..know they have certain # to hit every month…
Yes they are always there with arms open..if you don’t want to worry about them pressuring you check out goarmy.com its going to have the same info and you can chat with recruiters if you have questions..its a great way to get info without feeling pressured.
you can go in and get as little or as much info as you want also try the internet
yes you can …and tell them you want some brochures….and get them and leave
