Going to army recruitment office?

Question by weeashe: Going to army recruitment office?
Ok so I’m really thinking about joining the british army. However I’m 16 and my parents are nothing short of horrified. I’ve had a look online and the job of Combat Medical Technician really appeals to me. However i really want to know more about the army and the job and the life before I make a decision. So can you go to the recruiting office just to get some information? Or is it only for more when you’ve decided you want to join? When you go in, how should you speak, casually and honestly or do you treat it like and interveiw and be very aware of the fact that it is an army office and be very reserved and as well spoken as possible? How worried should I be about the impression I leave them with? Sorry for so many questions, I’m nervous and I want to do well. Also would it be inappropriate to go in my school uniform? Can you bring a friend or should I go alone?

Thanks in advance :)

Recruiting offices exist to give out information. Just go in and ask them what you want to know. Just be aware that once a recruiter knows who you are he won’t leave you alone if he thinks that there is a good chance that he can get you to join. Expect phone calls if you give them your real phone number.
