How recruitment companies/agencies work, earn?

Question by Tomy: How recruitment companies/agencies work, earn?
How much they take for each person they recommend?
Which conditions they put?
Do they need to bring people that will stay for at least 3 months in order to receive the profit on them?
Do they get money for each CV or just for successful CVs?
What can be a good conditions for a new recruitment agency/company?

If you have any other useful information about this subject, I will really appreciate any help!

Thank you

I used to work for a sales recruitment company, it’s a funny old business, most of the time you are cold calling companies to find out if they have vacancies, and then assuring them you have the best candidate for the job, they all have different terms and conditions the one I worked for charged in the region of £2000 pounds for finding the right candidate, they got a portion of that fee up front about 35% and the full amount once they had completed 6 months employment. The recruitment company only received money if the interview was successful and the person was employed, no money for Cv’s. A good economy helps in recruitment as more companies will be expanding and taking on new employees. These were jobs paying 40,000+ per year
