    my sis, use to do 18 pull ups & arm hangs she use to do the pull ups for kicks to show her unit she can do it. 2 NAM awards & made E5 on her 3 year mark. she got around 280-290 out of 300 each PFT. running was her strong point she was a marathon runner. and she still got a higher PFT then the males. NOW thats what a Hard working Marine. There are no woman in the Marines there are Marines who happen to be woman. weakness tho was sit-ups other wise she would have got 300.

    Yup! The standards are there for a reason. A very good reason. I don’t want handouts when I join. If I wanted handouts I would stay a civilian. (well, I will be part Civi even after I join because it will be reserves for me for a while.)

    @Marynicole830 I agree. Its stupid to lower the standards. If a Women can fit the Mens standards they should be let in, if they can’t, too bad.

    @Esther723

    Some Women can, and if Women work out, we are alot stronger than people think. The fact that women don’t build biceps as much is what makes us appear weaker. I can carry ALOT more than people think. If a woman can meet the physical requirements of combat they should be allowed in it, no special treatment or lower standards.

    @fanuvgod1

    Men and women do fight side by side as there is no true front lines. plus the Lioness program and others like it are sending women with Infantry, Scout, and tank troops.

    @bluegama500

    But if a woman CAN fit the physical needs for combat jobs, they should be let in them. They should not be lowered for women however as that can get them killed. I am a woman with really broad shoulders and big bones. I think I would have a shot if I had the chance. But of course I would not complain if I didn’t

    I agree. When I join whatever Branch I choose, I am going to hold myself up to the mens PT standards, and not accept special treatment.

    @bluegama500 Im just trollin, you know I am a women I was just messing with you. It just upsets me when men think women are only good for sex, cooking and cleaning, because I suck at cooking and I cant clean to save my life. I know women are not bulit to fight but if we try hard we can, like cool guys with long hair and viginas.
