Q&A: What to do if your recruitment agency does not pay on time?

Question by Slightly Dark Francis: What to do if your recruitment agency does not pay on time?
Hiya. I live in Australia. Recently I left my job and while waiting for my new position to commence, took on a bit of temporary work with an agency. Their odd pay dates & ranges system aside, I have yet to be paid for any work done, and payment is past due.

Is there a regulatory body or watchdog in Australia I can consult that deals specifically with recruitment agencies? The Workplace Authority site is little help.

The fair pay commission is the best, though you do need to fight it with the recruitment agency.

Legal advice. Do what number one suggested first. Just wondering if this company is on the up and up. Year s go my sister went with a Temp company and in the contract it said you were not allowed to work for another company for 6 months how wrong is that, she faced them on it, they took that clause out of the contract. Keep knocking on their door until they pay you.You could always call one of the current affair programs up. That would smartin their foot work up.Good luck From Vic
