Recruited by the Economy in Wisconsin

www.wkbt.com The tough economy is helpful to some organizations, including the US Military. Some recruiters nationwide say they’re seeing more people come through their doors. In La Crosse, recruiters say it’s too early to tell if western Wisconsin is seeing similar trends, but they are seeing more people who consider enlisting in the military an option for job security. “They have a guaranteed job,” says Sgt Erik Rasmussen, station commander at the US Army Recruiting Center in La Crosse. They have a salaried position that can help them out economically, whether it’s housing, educationally if they want to continue their education. We have a lot to offer people who may, or may not have looked at us before.” Recruiting numbers change during different times of the year.

@crowdaddy13 LOL Your cousin should’ve went DEP first to have time for that sign on bonus to arrive in the mail and then cash it, so he wouldn’t have been legally binding to serve. No sign on bonus check – > drop from DEP on request lol. And you’re right about the health insurance part for the reserves. If you really think about it, anyone who enlists are essentially volunteering themselves to fight for free lol. Fuck that shit. haha.

Military IS a good job. I’m going. I’m planning on going 10 years to transfer that GI bill to my future kids. I’m not so foolish as to think this trillion dollar bailout / debt wont come to bite me in the but when I’m trying to send my kids to college. (Or make a living for that matter)

yeah, i sell dope? i work for the US Govt you fucking queer. I got a security clearance so I really doubt that i do……..second of all, my brother just got sent to iraq last thursday, so you can eat a dick. i told him the same thing i said here, the war is bullshit………..he agreed.

he didnt want to fucking go to iraq, i have nothing against people do there jobs over there, but you cant live in a fantasy world and say iraq isnt a total shambles. we have been there longer than WWII

You already sell dope because you’re selfish and worthless. To verynice, we’re winning in Iraq, do you want to say “We lost in iraq” to a returning servicemembers face? No, people like YOU lost the war. He fought, even though it was a mistake and probably illegal, he still did his job. To Cliffpotts, jesus christ, the NAVY?! Your son must be some kind of slackoff or just a loser.

This is part of the goverments plan to win the war . the solution is to get more troops in iraq and to make up for the dead and wounded ones . BUT WE ARE NEVER GONNA WIN THIS WAR ITS GOING TO LAST ANOTHER 10 YEARS!!!!

You do not want to do this. You don’t. My son is in the Navy and he regrets the decision.

dude, id sell dope before id join the army or marines……fuck that.

two, those sign on bonuses and educational benefits are somewhat bogus too, my cousin was offered 10 grand and hasnt seen a dime yet.

also, if you join the guard or reserves, you have to pay higher premiums for health insurance, which when i quoted the navy reserve it was over $300 a month, enough to break a e-2 or e-3 with kids…….its not worth it.

Military benefits may be decent right now. But just wait because as our economy stays in the dumps and people are desperate, those benefits are gonna’ go to shit. Just look at the VA healthcare system. It’s horrible and it’s not going to get any better with a million new recruits. What horrible times we are living in. I’d hate to have to apologize to my children for bringing them into such a chaotic world.

There always seems to be money for war. Whoopee unemployments up again. Who needs education or health care when you can have a bogus war.
