So what happens at a US army recruiting station?

Question by aaabbc: So what happens at a US army recruiting station?
I ‘m planning to enlist after I finish High School, earn a IB certificate and finish JROTC.So what should I have on me when I go to a US army recruiting station? Also should I go anytime to get recruited ? Do you have to set up a appointment? Do I get to choose what job I have in the army such as Infantry man or other? Does the Army physically train you for the PT test? How long is a service?

Sorry if I’m asking too many questions but it’s a habit I have of always being preprepared.
The reason why I’m joining the Army is because my sister is going to UC San Diego and my parents don’t have a lot of money so I want to join the Army so my parents aren’t in a poor state when I leave for college and to also do something useful with my life.I plan to work on computer hardware and software when I get a job if that’s anything to add

1. Read this: http://www.todaysmilitary.com/careers/entry-process/enlisting-in-the-military

2. Yes the Army is the ONLY branch that will require you to pick a specific job upon enlisting

3. Yes…it’s called Basic Combat Training followed by physical training 3-5 days per week for the length of your military service

4. Look at Army MOS 25B:Information Systems Operator – Analyst
