I happened to be walking on the south side of 72nd St, between Broadway and Columbus — instead of my usual path along the north side of the street. As a result, I happened to notice this Army recruiting center, discreetly located on the 2nd floor of a nondescript building … about halfway down the street.

I have signed up for 3 years active duty as an M1 Armor Crewman, and following that I will attend the Virginia Military Institute for 4 years. After that, I will serve at least another 17 years active duty in the greatest army on God’s green Earth, the US Army.
Look at that career plan, sir- I believe America is still worth fighting for, even if folks like you don’t.
Actually, I was in the US Army. When my enlistment was over, I couldn’t conscientiously re-enlist. Look at what America is becoming and its definitely not what our constitution and our fore-fathers intended. Cheers =)

i have heard so many stories from buddies telling me they wish they never went because it was easier than highschool 2 a days for football and they didnt feel they gained a lot of the mental toughness through the training they were expecting. i went Army and but i was very in shape so i didnt really get “broken”. i recently just enlisted 6 year Marine Corps and am in DEP for the next few weeks until i ship out. im going 0451 Parachute Rigger with recon option added on
just the Army and the Marines that competed…imagine that. the Navy was hundreds of miles out to sea and the Air Force was playing soccor somewhere haha. not like the air force could compete anyways.
i hear a lot of military people say that once you become and NCO you “usually” either go to drill instructor school or recruiter duty. they say those NCOs that arent very good soldiers all around always are the ones that go to recruiter training. i understand there is volunteers but im just wondering what your thought is on this?
