Valuing Partners in the Military – Adopt a Military Partner
Over the years, hundreds of Cintas partners have been called up to military duty. When George Downey, Cintas service manager in Aston, Pennsylvania, was deployed in Iraq, the Cintas Corporate Communications department felt the need to be there for him. The Corporate Communications team adopted George, regularly sending him emails, cards, and care packages. Sally Hart, Cintas’ National Military Recruiting Director, helped earn Cintas Corporation a spot in GI Jobs Top 50 Military Friendly Employers list. Hart also manages the Cintas Adopt a Military Partner program. Cintas decided to participate in the program when the company realized that military partners’ values really reflect Cintas’ values. When the winter holidays were approaching, the Corporate Communications department in Mason, OH bought George a 4ft. Christmas Tree. They wanted to help create a home-like atmosphere for the holidays. However George is not the only one who has benefited from the program. George gave the Cintas partners who adopted him a window into his world, “defending our country in a hostile environment”. www.cintas.com
