I do not think that they can release information about your friend. This information is considered confidential. Have you tried googling his name?

Recruiter wont do anything for you unless he/she had recently left for boot or basic..

You need to contact your best friends family or friends and ask them for the address..

Maybe he does not want any contact..So there are measures in place to prevent just anyone from making contact.

The recruiters won’t give you anything. First off, information that you are requested is protected by the Privacy Act. Second, the recruiters are just there to recruit…once someone ships out, the recruiters job is done and they no longer process them. Third, if your friend joined years ago then the chances of a recruiter that was there when your friend went in is slim. Recruiters normally only do recruiting duty for 2 to 3 years.
Basically, they can’t help you…you’re going to have to use another way to find your friend.

If he had died, most likely a local newspaper would have run an article about a local fallen soilder. Google his name. If you can’t find any info about him, he is probably fine. Did you try facebook or myspace? Or tried to call his parents or an ex-girlfriend?

Go to the link below. Select the correct branch of service. Follow the instructions. Include the $ 3.50 payment with your letter. If he is on active duty in that branch of the service they will respond with his current rank and military mailing address. BTW, that is a zero after the “PC” and not an “O”.
