    Simple:

    Just do the things he tells you to do.

    Make an appointment, keep it and show up with your birth certificate, social security card and high school diploma (assuming you’ve already graduated from high school).
    If you are under 18 years old, make sure to bring your parents with you, so they can sign the consent portion of the DD 1966 series.

    The best way to prove to a recruiter that you want to join is to say, “I’m ready to enlist.” If they don’t want to believe you, join another service and call them from MEPS once you swear in.

    It isn’t your job to prove you really want to join their branch of service. It is their job to convince you that their’s is the best for you.

    Enjoy it because it will be the last time you are in charge over them.

    Hello Luis,

    You do NOT have to prove anything to any military recruiter to join the military.

    IF you are a high school graduate;
    IF you have a clean enough background without criminal offenses that could disqualify you;
    IF you obtain a qualifying score on the AFQT, Armed Forces Qualification Test, (Part of the ASVAB);
    IF you obtain high enough scores on the actual ASVAB to be given a military job;
    IF you can pass the enlistment physical given to you at the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station); and,
    IF there is an actual military job and slot available for you to enlist into, then,

    That is ALL you need to bring to the table. You don’t have to be in any extra curricular activities or anything to enter the military.

    You don’t have to justify yourself to anybody.

    Of course, you realize that you might have to wait weeks or months to get into the military. Patience.

    Are you still in high school? Which branch of the services are you interested in?

    Best wishes.
