Where to recruit military spouses for research study on effects of deployment on children?

Question by Jeffrey G: Where to recruit military spouses for research study on effects of deployment on children?
I am conducting a study for my doctoral dissertation that examines the impact that the military deployment of a parent has on children. I am needing to recruit military spouses who stayed at home while their spouse was deployed. I have been having trouble recruiting people to participate. I believe that the research is important because we may be able to make future suggestions as to what we can do to minimize the negative impacts. Does anyone have suggestions on where to recruit people from?

To be honest my daughter adapted much easier then I did to her daddy being gone. I had a much harder time with every day life then she did. I really think that is much often the case its harder on the spouse then the children.

But to answer your question contact family readiness group on base. I’m just a little confused to why you are interested in this especially if you have no knowledge of where to go to find people to participate. Maybe its just me.

If you are near a base I would contact the family readiness (AF version, they have other names). Also there are TONS of milspouse support websites, especially if you’re doing like a poll/questionnaire.
