The army wants people that are responsible and mature.

You showed you have UNPAID traffic tickets. You have had DISORDERLY conduct. You DON’T HAVE CUSTODY of your kids. You OWE CHILD SUPPORT for your kids.

It’s sad you can’t see why they think you’re unfit to represent our country.

They don’t want you to leave any debts behind when they ship you off to Iraq to die for oil!

They don’t need your baggage.

There are plenty of uneducated poor kids from the midwest and the south to take your place.

Sad but true.

Kids are expendable to the military.

You can’t join the army if you have pending legal issues. As for other states. I don’t know. Sounds like the recruiter in Ohio was following the law. Some recruiter are just trying to fill a quota and will do or say just about anything to get you in the door. After all there job is done. Signing up unsuspecting people. Have you ever heard of recruiters making false promises to recruits.

unpaid traffic tickets often result i arrest warrants. joining the military and leaving town would be fleeing. no employer wants to be a part of that.
disorderly conduct shows disregard for law and authority (self explanatory).

it’s not that you can’t join, those recruiters don’t want to be held accountable if you mess up.

The regulations are the same from state to state because the Army in a federal outfit, not a state one. You should get the same answers from different recruiters in different states. If you’re getting conflicting answers, then bring this up to the recruiter and tell him/her that you’d like a correct answer.

Also, pay those parking tickets to clear your record.

Okay, like others have said, you have to get all of your traffic tickets paid for before you do pretty much anything else. Once you get that done, try to get your driver’s license re-instated. This will be two things going in your favor.
As for the person that said you have to be married if you have kids and want to join the military, ignore them. There are plenty of divorced parents that are in the military that don’t have custody of their kids. You are showing some maturity by PAYING, not owing as someone who can’t read said, your child support. If you don’t have a court order for this, try to have a binding contract drawn up between you and the child’s mother about how much a month you’re going to pay for the support of your daughter. This way, you can show the recruiter that you’re not trying to dodge your responsibilities by joining the military, that you’re actually trying to improve your quality of life so you can improve your daughter’s. Explain to them that you want to join so that you can provide her with better health care and such. If necessary, go to family court and have an official document drawn up showing that you have visitation rights, how much you pay a month in child support and that you are taking an active role in her life. This will help as well.
And remember, there are other branches of the service besides the Army. Sometimes the Navy or the Marines are more willing to work with prospective recruits than the Army is in some regards.

Ohio typically meets its mission for new recruits, so they can be picky. PA, WV, and IN sometimes have problems with meeting there mission and can not be so picky.

You have alot of issues tht might turnoff a recruiter. Just because you may need to be in the military, doesnt mean the military needs you with the issues. Your history shows irresponsible behavior.

No military service will accept somebody with outstanding legal issues.

And with that misdemeanor you will need a waiver to enlist.

Combined with what you said in another post – you do not appear to be mature enough to succeed in the military.
