Title: Why does the military recruit so many ‘gangland’ members?
Question by cynical bugger: Why does the military recruit so many ‘gangland’ members?
Isn’t this tantamount to creating a new insurgency within our own shores? I mention this only because some retired, military imbecile decimated one of my responses- the fascist pig! He’s an idiot of the first order and posts his icon in full uniform- normally I would respect this if it were not such an obvious affectation.
Tami- I agree, and that would be fine and understandable with me. No quarrel here for that one.

The military does try and distinguish gang members from others.. When you join, they check the tattoos.. It’s impossible to tell if a person truly is a gang member without the tattoos.. So, natuarally.. Many will get in..

because they can stab the terrorists on the ass including God Lol Lol Lol Lol Lol.
“So many”, exactly how many is so many?
Our troops come from America and in America gang members exists, so obviously some will get in.
The military has had gang members in it for many many years now.
I wouldn’t say they recruit them, when I was in, I knew a couple of gang members from northern California.. they went it the Marine Corps to get away from that life. some however go back when they get out. scary isn’t it. I would agree that the military needs to be a little more selective, however in a time a of war they lower requirements to get bodies in and numbers up.
You also have to remember that just because they are young punks or jerks or have a bad attitude, or have tattoos…or whatever else makes you describe them as “gang-land members” doesn’t necessarily mean they really ARE in a gang.
Alot of these guys lead a hard life, grew up in a tough neighborhood…whatever their background, alot of the time they are simply looking for a way out and seek out the military as a quick and easy way to a new, and better, life.
Because you haven’t joined.
I’m sure that if you had joined, and volunteered for recruiting duty, you would do a perfect job.
Or, maybe, like all of the real recruiters; you would get sick of getting chewed out week after week. You would get sick of getting laughed at in the mall when you asked a kid to join the Army. You would get sick of getting cussed out on the phone by angry parents, offended that you want to ask their precious angel to enlist.
Then, someone walks in the office. No health problems, no law violations, high school diploma in had. He’s got a bandana stuffed in his pocket You ask him “are you a member of an extremist group?” He says “no.” You have no way of knowing if he lied or told the truth. But you got someone in the Army.
WTF are recruiters supposed to do? Waterboard everyone who walks into a recruiting station, just to make sure they’re not in a gang?
Tell a kid who isn’t in a gang to do something good with his life, and walk him to a recruiting station yourself.
Like jamie s said, they check the tattoos, and we were told in in-processing briefings about watching what we pictures we put online. Gang signs in pictures, especially while in uniform, is a huge no, as well. That can lead to a discharge, if I remember correctly.
you sound like a fascist pig
lol i know what you mean i had bunch of pvt thinking they were all hard and could disboyed directs orders and they were too cool to shitty jobs that boots do, and even thought i almost beat the crap cause of disrespect i couldnt and give them almost no punishment cause they would go complain to Xo or staff ncos’s ..and all had to do all the paperwork of their DUI’s ,Drug poops, or check if they pay there car insurance like little kids
