Why is this recruitment agency helping me find a job?

Question by Fresh Start: Why is this recruitment agency helping me find a job?
I applied for a job that was advertised through a recruitment agency. I was considered and thus went to an interview at their premises. Since then the recruitment agency has been sending me a number of company names telling me to write applications, and they’ll send it on my behalf. What i don’t understand is, why? why are they doing this? Are they expecting money of me for this?

If you have registered with the agency then this is what they will do – You don’t pay them anything. They get payment out of the hourly rate. So for example a company that is looking to employ someone will pay £10 an hour but, they company will then have to pay the recruitment agency for employing you – Your wages will normally come from the agency and they will ask for say £12 an hour and keep the £2 (all examples, but just trying to give you an idea)
